Chelsey-LOCAL!'s Story...
Meet Chelsey! Chelsey is a gorgeous, 7 year old Labrador Retriever mix. She is medium sized and weighs 48 pounds. Chelsey has a soft, honey golden coat and warm brown eyes. She is truly beautiful! Chelsey is an obedient girl. She is calm and quiet. She is very easygoing. Chelsey is very food motivated! You will have her full attention if there is a treat to be had! Chelsey does okay on walks. She sometimes pulls but does better with the use of an easy walker harness. Chelsey can be a little timid in new situations. She would do best in a home with older children as little ones tend to overwhelm her. She gets along great with other dogs and cats. Chelsey is a sweet girl and deserves to know the love of a family and the comforts of home! She is healthy, current on all vaccinations and has been spayed. She also has a microchip. Please contact April at apr0227@msn.com if you would like to adopt this sweet girl! Thank you for saving a life!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chelsey-LOCAL!, a Portsmouth Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portsmouth, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portsmouth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portsmouth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portsmouth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portsmouth paves the way for another one to be saved.
