Aldo's Story...
Poor Aldo was found as a stray. Who could have thrown him out?? We have no clue but whoever gave him up didn't know what a jewel they had. Aldo is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 9lbs. He is a super sweet, shih-tzu who has excellent manners. He rides well in a car and is catching on to the housetraining deal. He gets along great with other dogs and would love a playmate. He is currently in a foster home with 3 cats and he totally ignores them. He is a very quiet dog and we have yet to hear him bark. Aldo can be shy initially but once he warms up to you, he will be your little shadow and follow you all around the house. Even with his hair matted, you can tell he is a beautiful dog and will make the ideal foofoo doggie :)

Aldo will be neutered, up-to-date with all vaccination, heartworm tested, given a fecal exam (and dewormer if necessary) and given flea preventative and microchipped prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting Mr Aldo, please email bettinav@hotmail.com to request an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aldo, a Hazard Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
