My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is a sweet, 2.5 year old lab-mastiff mix who is a pleasure to have in the house! He's got a mastiff noggin on a lab body-too cute! It took him a few days to warm up to his foster parents, and he's generally reserved when meeting new people, but once he trusts you he really IS your best buddy! What an appropriate name!

Buddy came to rescue intact, though you'd never know it because of how big a wimp he is, but has since been neutered. He loves his foster parents and gets super wiggly and happy and gives baby licks when they come home from work, and loves to play in the yard and roll around in the grass on his back and play with his toys. It's only a guess, but his foster home thinks he's a 'water dog,' too, since he so willingly gets into the tub for baths-just have to wait for warm weather to see if he likes to swim!

He is learning how to be more gentle when playing, and because he can be unsure of new people sometimes (not all the time), he'll do best in a quieter home in a home with dog-savvy kids over 12. He currently lives with his two cat foster brothers and was supposedly dog tested at the shelter he was pulled from and did well, but he has yet to be dog-tested in his foster home. He's fine with the cats, but does like to play with and nuzzle them when excited, but will keep his distance if they tell him to- so dog-savvy cats will be a must, too. He does not like other dogs at all but don't let that stop you--his love of his family more than makes up for that!

Buddy really is an awesome pup who loves to sit back on his hindquarters and give hugs with his front paws, and is truly well mannered! Absolutely no complaints about this boy in the home when alone or when his foster family is home. He's truly a gem and whoever adopts him will be one lucky family!
