Jonesy's Story...
Jonesy is a young, high energy lab mix. He had a rough life before he came to HHS, and at first he was terrified of just about everything, but he has blossomed into a happy-go-lucky, playful, and loveable boy. He loves attention and Jonesy will jump right in your lap if you let him! He is housetrained. Jonesy knows how to “sit” although he sometimes will lie down and roll over instead because he can’t get enough belly rubs. Jonesy enjoys going on walks and taking car rides. He gets along well with other dogs, and he ignores cats. If you are interested in adopting Jonesy, please complete an application at www.henricohumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonesy, a Richmond Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
