Farley's Story...
Meet Farley! Farley is an australian shepherd, but we can't say if full or a mix. He was adopted from a local kill shelter about a year ago and now needs a new home. His family is moving and can't take Farley with them. Farley is about 2 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. He's up to date with vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. Farley loves everyone from babies to seniors. Farley is a very friendly and loving boy. He is a wonderful companion and actually loves to give "hugs". He plays with children very well. He also gets along with all dogs, but we're not sure about cats. Farley is housebroken and trained to an invisible fence. He would love to have a great big yard to run and play in. Do you have the perfect home for sweet Farley? Rehome fee: $80.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Farley, a Baton Rouge Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
