Max and Katie's Story...
Max and Katie are 3 yo. Max weighs about 15-17 lbs and Katie weighs about 13 lbs. They are very short, and very stocky. Both are good w/kids and other dogs-not sure about cats. Both are calm and good natured tho Max does get a little excited around very active children. Otherwise he is calm and relaxed. House trained and leash trained. They both do well off leash tho and stay close to their owners. Lap babies. Katie has one eye that is 1/2 blue. They come when called, sit, and stay (as long as they can stand to). Well behaved. Max will bark to alert of a stranger. Must adopt together as Max is very bonded to Katie. No small children please due to their small size. Spayed, on heartworm preventative, vaccines up to date. Will be microchipped prior to placement. Adopter will have an opportunity to speak w/owner prior to placement. Will be seen by a veterinarian within 48 hrs prior to placement and come w/a certificate of health. For more information/application visit our website at . TRANSPORTATION TO THE NORTHEAST IS AVAILABLE.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max and Katie, a Sussex Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Sussex, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Sussex.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sussex already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sussex breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sussex paves the way for another one to be saved.
