Jessa's Story...
I'm Jessa! I was born in June 2012. A nice lady rescued me and took me in, but I got outside one day and came home pregnant before my new owner could get me fixed. Before she knew it, she had 8 more kitties to take care of! Unfortunately, she lost her home, and I was about to end up in an overcrowded shelter, but my current foster mom got to me before anything bad happened to me! I've been in foster care since my babies were 3 days old, and now I'm ready to be adopted! My foster mom had me spayed, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested, de-wormed, and she treated me for fleas and ear mites just to be safe. There is a $100 adoption fee to help Happy Strays cover my vet bills. I would love a forever home, whether it's a home where I'm the only pet or a home where there are other animals. I'm okay with the other kitties, though I'd prefer to only have 1 or 2 feline friends, and am learning that the dogs won't hurt me. I am special because I have extra toes on all 4 paws-I'm a polydactyl! If you'd like to meet me, please contact my foster mom at and she will get in touch with you right away!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jessa, a La Canada Flintridge Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in La Canada Flintridge, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in La Canada Flintridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Canada Flintridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Canada Flintridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Canada Flintridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
