Rider's Story...
Rider is a very unique looking dog. He always draws folks over to him, asking "what kind of dog is that?" While we are explaining his mix Rider is eager to show off his wonderful personality. Rider is such a sweet, easy going boy! He gets along well with other dogs, both big and small. He loves all people and is thrilled with all the attention he gets. Belly rubs, ear rubs and ohs and ahs are definitely big favorites for our "low Rider!"

Rider is an excellent walking companion and even is happy to trot along for a hike around the valley. As mentioned, Rider is great with other dogs and plays very nicely with all canine friends he encounters. He even "turns the other cheek" with dogs that are a bit on the grumpy side. Rider just wants everyone to get along!

Rider is looking for a home with daily walks, snuggle time and a lifetime of love! He'd be happy to hang out with you at the local cafe while you catch up with friends. WARNING - if you don't want folks approaching you to interact with Rider, then he is not the dog for you! :) He is a guranteed attention getter and conversation stater!

So if you're looking for a social, easy going canine friend, Rider is the dog for you. Please complete an application for him today. He is eager to get started on the next part of his life! To learn more - www.azrescue.org.

Rider weighed 28 pounds when we saved him from the kill list.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rider, a Phoenix Basset Hound/Dalmatian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Dalmatian for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound/Dalmatian dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Dalmatian breeders who help with Basset Hound/Dalmatian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
