Troy's Story...
Courtesy posting for Foothills Animal Clinic, Forest City, NC

Troy was found injured by a good samaritan and brought to the clinic to be treated. Newspaper ads were taken out for his owner to claim, but no one showed up.

As you can tell from his photo, Troy had been attacked by another animal. He was treated and is doing very well. He has been neutered and brought current on his vaccines. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention.

Troy is a sweet little boy with people, but does not like big dogs. He does get along fine with small dogs his size wanting to play and run in the yard. We do not know if he is house trained, but he keeps his cage at the clinic clean till he is taken outside to potty. He is good on a leash for walks. He does get a little car sick when riding in a crate, so not sure if it is because he is crated or does not like car rides. He is great with people and we feel he would do fine with older children and a fenced backyard. Troy chases cats, so a kitty free home is desirable.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Troy, a Lawndale Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Lawndale, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Lawndale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lawndale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lawndale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lawndale paves the way for another one to be saved.
