Chloe's Info...
| Breed: | Boxer Mix | Color: | Brindle - With White | Age: | Puppy |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
Hi, my name is Chloe and I am a boxer mix. When I first came to my Foster house I was very nervous and all I did was shake in fear. I was very scared to be away from my siblings. At my foster home, they showed me how nice humans can be. Kids are my favorite! I get lots of kisses. I love kisses!
My Foster Mom is helping me with getting housebroken and I will wait at the door when I have to go out. I still make a few mistakes but I am still little. I’m almost sleeping through the night too without the need for a potty break! We are also working on walking on leash and I know the command ‘lie down’.
All I want to do is please you. If I do something wrong, just gently tell me ‘no’ and I will do much better next time. I just want you to be happy, love and snuggle with me.
I also do not run away if I am off leash, I am a good girl and stay close to my humans. We are working on recall, but if the kids or big people move away from me or go into the house, I run as fast as I can after them!
I love kisses, snuggles, rubs, and soft blankets. I am not a fan of chilly weather inside or out, so I like to be under or on a warm blanket. I have such short hair that it makes me feel cozy and safe. I think they spoil me a lot here. That’s ok though, I like it.
Do you have room in your heart to love me?
If you or someone you know are interested in meeting Chloe please fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html. Thank you!
Rescue Group Info...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
We do not have a regular adoption site at this time, but stay tuned to our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ForgottenDogs5) for our upcoming events!
Our adoption fee ranges from $100 to $150. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
