My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oreo is a darling little dog and weighs just 8 lbs. It is hard to believe when you meet this little guy, that he has led a life of neglect. He is so loveable and just a little charmer. He is friendly with everyone and since coming into our care, his tail is always wagging. He is approximately 3 - 5 years old and would do best in a home where someone is there more often than not. He deserves to be loved and treated as the little companion that he is.

Here is what his foster mom had to say:

Oreo is irresistibly cute with a soft curly coat. He is very affectionate and loves to be cuddled, hugged and fussed over. His favourite thing is sitting on my lap. He does like to play as well and is fairly active outdoors but reserved in the home. He does want to be with me all the time and keep me in his sight. Overall he is a healthy little dog although still somewhat underweight.

Oreo has a good house manners in general. He never gets into anything that he shouldn't, doesn't beg for food and will not steal food even when it is within his reach. He has never chewed on anything he shouldn't. He knows his basic commands such as "come", "sit", "wait". I am working on teaching him to stay but at the moment he will only stay for a short time if I am out of his sight. He is fully house trained however when he is left alone he has a tendency to mess in the house out of fear. For this reason I think he needs to have someone that is home most of the time. He could be crated but he has some an aversion to the crate that I don't want to do that to him. I think in time once he learns that his person is always coming back, he will get over this.

He is a very friendly little fellow and seems to like everyone including respectful children of all ages. He has never shown any shyness or aggression towards anyone. He would be fine as an only pet but would do well with another little dog in the home that would perhaps help him over his anxiety of being alone.

Oreo is a very cute dog. He will amuse you in a lovely way and is loyal and extremely affectionate. He would love to be someone's constant companion and to learn that he will never again be neglected or left in a cage. He would do fine in a home with respectful children and a stay at home mom, or as a single's companion. He is very quiet in the home and would be a good choice for someone that was able to take their dog to work.

If you think you can give this sweet little boy the home he deserves, please submit an application for consideration.
