My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If sunshine, light and the best welcome home you've ever received is what you need, then look no further, Max is your boy. He is a 22 lbs, 5 year old, Corgi/Chihuahua mix that is one of the friendliest little guys you'll ever meet. He was abandoned in a house with 3 other dogs and luckily a neighbor reported hearing them barking. Max would prefer to sleep in the bed all stretched out beside you, flat on his back and the covers tucked underneath his chin. He's a real snuggle bug too. He is a very sensitive boy, so if he must be crated he would prefer to be right beside your bed. He cries real tears when left alone. We would imagine that being abandoned could do that to a dog. He is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is quite a confident little soul and does have an issue with large dogs, as do many small dogs, and can become aggressive with them without provocation. He does well, however, with the 90 lbs lab at his foster home now that they have come to an agreement. He is great with small dogs though and loves to play with them. He was found with three small dogs, so we imagine he fancies himself "the protector" of all things small. He adores the 7 lbs chihuahua at his foster home and is extremely tolerant of the 5 lbs chihuahua's bad attitude. He does like to chase cats sometimes, just for fun, so a dog savvy cat would be best. Max is absolutely fantastic with people. He is a real lover boy and sweetheart. He truly is a very special boy with a lot of love to share. He's sweetness and light and a pure joy to be around. He is quite the happy little camper wherever he goes. Any family would truly be blessed to call this boy their own. Regretfully we are no longer able to adopt to RI and MA applicants.
