Cookie's Story...
Meet Cookie, a reserved but friendly adult Shih Tzu who is looking for a forever companion in a quiet environment. Her exact age is not known but she is estimated to be about 8 years young. Cookie is okay with other dogs, and even the resident cat at her foster home, but is not into playing and would prefer to be the only dog so she doesn't have to share the limelight. She would make an ideal companion for a retired or semi-retired single or couple. Cookie enjoys going for walks but does not have high exercise requirements. If you think you can offer Cookie the right kind of home, she would love to hear from you.

All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed, tested for heartworm, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $400 ($250 for senior dogs and $125 for cats) and an adoption contract.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Rigaud Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
