Meet Shelby! Shelby is a special girl that deserves only the best! She has had a rough first few years of her life. Shelby is a Collie mix who weighs about 40 lbs (could stand to gain a couple pounds). She is about 2 yrs old. Shelby somehow found herself pregnant and in a rural shelter, but luckily Critter Cavalry stepped forward to help her and her unborn babies. She got to leave the shelter on a Friday morning and the very next day gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies. She was a wonderful mom and raised her babies well, they are all now adopted and she is looking for her forever home. We think Shelby must have spent a lot of time outside alone without much human interaction. It seems she just isn't sure how to be a pet. She is very, very shy at first, but once she warms up and comes to you, she loves to be rubbed and petted. She needs a family willing to be patient with her and show her that people can be trusted. She gets a bit anxious when left home alone, even if in the crate (she does not potty in the crate, but will chew on anything you leave in there with her like a blanket or towel, but also is great about chewing on and playing with a toy if you make sure to put that in). She walks great on a leash and is fantastic with other dogs. Are you someone that could show her love and consistency so that she can flourish and become a wonderful pet?
