Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lola, a beautiful female Vosmaer’s Eclectus (or Vos Eclectus) who is about 8 years old. Vos Eclectus live to 40+ years and make the sweetest, baby-like sounds. In her baby voice, she says “Pretty Bird”, “Hello”, “Hi” and “Lola”. She may say even more words but not sure yet. Now, Lola can eat like a little piglet and it shows. She loves vegetables (broccoli, squash, kale, carrot, sweet potato, collard greens, red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers and cooked beans) and she gets plenty in her homemade birdie bread. She will eat some fruit, such as apples, bananas; cantaloupe but she will not eat (at least not yet) blueberries or peaches. Eclectus are gentle birds and do not do well around a lot of commotion or noise. She seems fine with a barking dog and the television, but may not do as well with a home where there are boisterous children. Other than the occasional screech to hunt for “mama”, she is an extremely quiet bird. Lola is stick trained and will step up on your hand. She loves to bathe and be spritzed with a water bottle or misted when taken outside. She also should get daily sunshine and plenty of time outside the cage. This lovely bird will do well with a one or two person home. If this colorful, endearing bird catches your eye, come meet her. You may just fall in love with her personality!
