My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One look into Inigo Montoya’s soulful eyes and it is apparent that the friendly fellow once known only as One Ear has known both joy and pain. Before admission to Tree House he lived in a warehouse on the south side of Chicago with many other stray cats. Life in the warehouse was not ideal by any means, but in an area where people frequently abandon pets it served as a refuge from the cold. The warehouse is closing soon leaving the stray cats with no where to go. Tree House is working to gradually admit the colony. Inigo Montoya was born in 2005.

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
