CALVIN's Story...
Hello! I'm Calvin! A 2 year old sweet and sensitive, very handsome boy! Everyone loves my orange coloring and pink nose!! I was adopted as a kitten from another rescue group with my sister...the family only wanted my sister but the rescue group had a policy that everyone must adopt a pair of cats, sooo the family adopted us both and dumped ME at a municipal shelter. How messed up is that?? I grew up there. Luckily I'm now with GPS and I am just SO sweet and amazing that you would never guess my history! I also have a very cute meow! I follow everyone around and jump onto laps. I get along great with other cats, and dogs are a pretttty interesting species! Please come meet me!!

Calvin is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you're interested in meeting Calvin, please email adoption@goldenpawsociety.org to set up an appointment!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CALVIN, a Huntington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
