Shadow's Story...
Shadow is an Australian Shepard. He is 2 1/2 years old. He belonged to an elderly woman who is moving into assisted living. Shadow weighs about 47 pounds. Shadow was a little shy at first but has made a couple of close friends on our staff. A trainer has been working with him every week and she says he is very bright and a good learner. Shadow would love space to run and someone to play with.
Shadow is a tricolor with Merle blue overtones. He is a little protective of food so we don't recommend he go with toddlers - but this is improving with the training. He loves to cuddle and will gladly crawl into your lap.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Richfield Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Richfield, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Richfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
