Here's what the humans have to say about me:
At five months old Skylar found himself at a high kill shelter not knowing that his life was soon going to be over. He was pulled by another rescue and placed in a boarding kennel, still only knowing bars around him, but they did not come back to get him so he spent the next 10 months living there. We heard his story and decided that even though he is not a gsd he deserved a chance to have a normal life being only 1.5 years old. Skylar is now 2.5 yrs old and in one of our foster homes with a dad that spends a great deal of time with him. Skylar is a wonderful boy, very affectionate, loving and kind. He does know some basic commands and will do what is asked when you use a quiet voice. For some reason he doesn't like to be yelled at but who does. He is people friendly and enjoys walks and car rides. Skylar does require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy. He goes hiking with his foster dad up in the mountains, runs along side of him when he rides his bike and a casual stroll around the neighbor. He is not that good with other dogs and can be picky on which ones he wants to make friends with. Skylar can be a little dominate due to the fact he has never been socialized with them when he was a puppy but with the right companion he’ll do fine. Foster dad is working with him all the time and he has made incredible strides in this area too.
