Hello! My name is Minnie
Important Note: Minnie is best friends with Missy. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
I am in need of an experienced adopter and not good with kids.
In September of 2012, a family of rats was delivered to Yale Road by a sister rescue. They were in the Oakland County shelter after having been abandoned in a home when the people moved out. The whole family was in one cage together, so in addition to the 6 little ones it was almost certain Mom was expecting again.
Being very small individuals, the family were dubbed The Littles. With time and care, they have put on healthy weight, but the name has stuck.
True to expectations, Mrs. Little delivered an additional 10 tiny rittens on 10/15/12. Three girls from this litter are ready for their forever home. Little Girl 3 is a black variegated berkshire with dumbo ears. Like the rest of the family, all are very high strung, high energy. Though they are improving with age, their ideal home would be an experienced one with plenty of patience and no small children.
More information about Yale Road Adoptables
Yale Road Adoptables is located in Greenwood Township, Michigan and specializes in rats and degus for adoption, but you may find others needing homes here as well. My own personal search for adoptable pocket pets led me to the discovery of so many more in need, and Yale Road was established in order to help as much as possible with the effort to find these little ones caring, loving homes. I am not a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; this is me, at my place, doing what I can for those who need it.
Unless an animal has had surgery while in my care, there are no adoption fees requested and no contracts are ever required; however, I will have some questions about a potential adopter’s plans for habitat, diet, vet care, etc. Donations are gratefully accepted and very much appreciated, but never demanded. Profits from sales on the web site go strictly to the care of the animals here, both those available for adoption and those who will be here with me for life due to health and/or behavioral issues.
No animals are bred here. Ever. So, this is not a place to search out babies. I have taken in rats and mice who have turned out to be expecting and may take a mother with a litter, but that is the only time you will find baby animals looking for homes from Yale Road.
Any animal adopted from Yale Road is welcome back. At any time, for any reason; health, behavior or circumstance.
Email email@example.com for an appointment to visit.
There are no adoption fees, (with the exception of rats that have had spay/neuter/tumor removal surgery), and no contracts required to adopt, but some conversation regarding housing, diet, vet care and prior experience is required prior to being approved to adopt.
