Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Ladies, if you are looking for a handsome companion, Riley is a sure fit!!! He is a gorgeous mix of King Charles Cavalier spaniel and cocker spaniel. Riley is about 3 years old, weighs 24 pounds or so, is completely house trained, and loves to go for walks. When he came to rescue he was overly anxious from having a rough start in life, but after meeting with a vet behaviorist, inexpensive meds have helped him mellow out. The perfect home for Riley would be a single lady who is home much of the day so he can keep her company….that means someone to snuggle next to during quiet time and share the bed at night, of course. He does not need to be crated and does not mind spending part of the day home alone. He thinks all squirrels and chipmunks were put outside for his chasing enjoyment, so a fenced yard would be ideal. Riley would enjoy being an only dog as he really doesn't like sharing attention with other dogs. His red and white coat is perfect for petting and his big Cavalier eyes will melt one’s heart. The groomer said he was a very good boy, so no worries there. Riley is with a 501c3 rescue. His adoption fee is $300 to cover his neuter, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, professional grooming, and he has a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
