Stevie #279's Story...
Stevie #279 is a Kelpie mix. This 1-year- old is 22 pounds of business!
This strong and handsome guy has many of the Kelpie characteristics. Crate trained, leash trained, and very smart. He would do well with formal training. Since the breed is not well- known, here little more information about Kelpies from
“A compact, robust, enthusiastic and tireless herd dog. Kelpies are devoted one-man dogs but far too work-oriented and energetic for a couch dog or apartment existence. Their easy trainability and keenness on the job make them a fundamental component of the Australian workforce. They are ready to respond immediately to any signal given by their masters, even from a great distance. They are good with children when they are raised with them from puppyhood and/or properly socialized. Kelpies will try to herd other dogs, pets and animals whether they want to be herded or not. This workaholic will work until it drops. They are independent and in business for themselves rather than for pleasing a handler.”

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stevie #279, a Waldorf Australian Kelpie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Australian Kelpie dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie breeders who help with Australian Kelpie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
