Emma 14295-c's Story...
Hi, my name is Emma and I'm ready to be your new perfect companion! I arrived at the SPCA after my elderly owner had to move into an assisted living situation and could not bring me along. It was a bit upsetting for me at first, as I was used to having the same routine with my best human friend for eight years. We used to sit together every day and watch tv or read books. I loved draping myself across her lap, accepting as many chin and ear scratches as I could get. I'd really love continuing this routine in my new home, preferably a quieter one like what I am used to. A fun trick of mine is that I like to come when called, so whenever you need me, I'll happily come trotting to your side. Like I said, a perfect companion! Come in and get to know me - I promise I'll be your faithful friend furever!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma 14295-c, a Ithaca Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
