Louise's Story...
Meet Louise. Louise is a shepherd / terrier mix approximately 4 years old, who weighs about 30 pounds. Louise was adopted from CAA, but her new owners work very long hours and don't have time from her. Louise is up to date with vaccinations, spayed and microchipped so she's ready for her new home. Louise is a friendly, playful girl who loves everyone. She knows a few basic commands and may need some help with housebreaking. She's smart and eager to learn. She's been an outside girl in her home, but she would love to be your inside girl. She gets very excited when her people come home, but just melts when you stop and give her lots of love and attention. Sweet Louise just wants a family who will have time for her and who will love her and treat her like the special girl she is. Do you think Louise could be your special girl? Rehome Fee: $100.00. Email Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender at pass@caabr.org to request an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louise, a Baton Rouge Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
