YoYo's Story...
My name is YoYo. I am a neutered, male Dachshund, about 3 - 4 years old, that came to Tall Tails Beagle Rescue from the Paris Animal Welfare Society in Paris,KY. I am a very sweet boy that will make someone a wonderful new family member. Please give me a loving home! Here is what the PAWS Shelter had to say about me:

"Meet YoYo! He is around 4 yrs old (as of 1/16) and is a Dachshund. He is very cute and has a nice red coat. He was brought to us by his person. They were concerned about him being around their grandchildren. He has been nervous with kids before and they didn’t want to take chance. He likes people and enjoys getting attention. He has some of the normal stubbornness you can see in this breed. He can be wary of new places and was scared when he was first brought to us, but has settled in now. All the noise and strange smells are intimidating for him, so he will be best in a quiet home. The people who brought him indicated that he was outside most of the time, but did come inside some. They had not house trained him. He would prefer to be inside with people and can learn house training. He is good with other dogs, but will chase cats. He nicely takes treats and we can easily take food from him. He is not the most tolerant dog which is probably why he is not good with kids. He simply doesn’t understand why anyone would want to be rough with him. YoYo desperately wants to be back in a home. With love and attention, he will be a good friend for you."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

YoYo, a Freeport Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
