Ruff Ruff! My name is Jemma
|Breed:||American Staffordshire Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) Mix||Color:||Brindle - With White||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less||Sex:||Female|
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
Jemma is a staffie mix that is about 4 years old. She is a very active dog and runs like an antelope! She has never been in a house or had much attention so she is learning basic manners and it takes her a few minutes to settle down because she is just so excited to have human interaction! She is very picky about other dogs and the ones she likes. I would recommend an experienced dog owner who can do very slow introductions or even better, for her to be the only dog. She is only about 25lbs and won't get any bigger. She is very loving and revels in any attention she gets. She is house broken and crate trained. She has started the slow kill method for heartworm, is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She will make a GREAT dog for the right family! If you would like more info on Jemma you can email her foster mom at email@example.com or fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html. Thank you!

Rescue Group Info...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project November of 2011 to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 300 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
We do not have a regular adoption site at this time, but stay tuned to our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ForgottenDogs5) for our upcoming events!
Our adoption fee is $125. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
