Pokey's Story...
Pokey came to us from the Payson area when his owner passed away and family members were unable to take him. Pokey had a hard time adjusting to his loss, but he has settled in well over the last few weeks and now regularly socializes with both people and cats.

Pokey is a stunning looking fellow with the most beautiful green eyes. His short coat is a gleaming black. He is quiet as a mouse but watches all the activity around him. Like all our cats, he is FIV/FELV negative.

Pokey loves cat treats, so it's easy to get him to come to you! He is going to make an awesome companion for a patient, kind person who will love him and give him the space and time he needs to adjust to his next home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pokey, a Gilbert Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
