Cattle Dog/German Shepherd Dog Mix Dog for adoption in Montpelier, Vermont - Nick-E

Nick-E's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Nick-E's Story...
Nick-E was scheduled to be euthanized at Miami Dade and it was felt that she was "aggressive". She passed a temperment test with flying colors and here she is, in Vermont. Nick-E was surrendered by her owner for unknown reasons. We foujd upon her arrival that she had chronic diahrrea. After many trips to the vet and many medications, she was diagnosed with cholitis. We switched her to RAW meat diet of nothing but chicken. She is thriving and would need to be maintained on this diet to avoid her stomach upset. Nick-e is is almost 6. She is not fond of being outside but given the opportunity, she would take a run and you will not catch her. She needs a fenced in yard and likes to be a house dog. She is very neat and clean, crate trained, and housebroken. She does pull on a leash. she could be considered a hoarder because she loves to stockpile toys in her crate. She would be best as an only dog. We do not know if she is good with cats but suspect that it could be problematic. She would do best in a home with children over the age of 15.

About Almost Home Dog Rescue and Rehab, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from high kill shelters in the south and take dogs that others are passing by. We do not support euthanasia (unless there is a medical condition which causes the dog pain and is in the best interest of the dog.) We believe that there is a home for every dog and that we will have properly assessed the dog prior to placement. It is our believe that training is critical for each and every dog. As part of our adoption process we provide training with the new family and above all, in the event that the adoption is not working out for the dog or the new family, we require that the dog be returned to Almost Home Dog Rescue and Rehab, Inc. There are no exceptions to this policy.
