CYPRUS's Story...
Cyprus was rescued during our Rescue Road Trip. She is 2 years young, and 47 pounds. She is such a sweet girl and we could not leave her behind. She was rescued from a kill shelter and placed in a foster home out of state until she arrived on April 6th. Previously, she had puppies. Some rescue took her pups and left her behind! No worries, we will be sure she gets a great home! She is a GREAT dog! This is what her foster home has to say about this adorable little girl: Cyprus is just a very well-mannered dog, with amazing blue eyes. When not walking the grounds on a leash, she sat quietly in her crate waiting for her photo shoot. She was so quiet on the ride home I almost forgot she was in the car. Once home she was introduced to our dogs and 2 cats, and also 2 children over 10. After the introductions were over all the dogs went out to play in the yard. Cyprus allowed them all to continue to sniff her without incident. Cyprus ate well and at a nice pace. She hasn’t barked yet or jumped on anyone. She is just a great dog that will make some family complete. She is spayed, had a shot, rabie shot, heartworm test etc. As we get to know this sweet one better, we will update the description.

UPDATE: Just a quick note to advise that she is housebroken. She is good with cats too. She likes to play in the yard but really enjoys leash walks. She walks on the leash like a rock star! This animal is currently fostered in a private home. Our rescue is 100% foster home based. We do not have a shelter or kennel. They are cared for by a loving family until adopted. Each pup has had their first vet exam, a shot, and de-worming, etc We make sure they have no fleas prior to going into our foster homes. They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously!

Please note that the adoption appointments will be scheduled after your application is approved. Once adopted, feel free to change the dog's name. You do not have to keep the name listed in this post.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CYPRUS, a West Milford Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in West Milford, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in West Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
