Sir Elton John's Story...
It'll be a jolly good day when I can "spring" outa here and settle down into a new loving home! My name is Sir Elton John, named after You-Know-Who, except I didn't get to meet the Queen.... I even have a fan club like he does....the Volunteers here all think I'm pretty special! I'm just 9 months old and I have lovely gold eyes and a soft blue coat. I'm kinda shy when I first meet folks, but I warm up quickly. I'd really really like to get gone from here and into a great home with loving folks who will let me cuddle up with them on the sofa & watch TV. My other family had to move and couldn't take me along. I sure miss playing "chase the feather" and napping on a real chair! So, come on in and ask to visit with me in the Cat Room. I'm in cage #123.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sir Elton John, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
