Roxy's Story...
Meet Roxy. Miss Roxy is a stunningly beautiful purebred, merle, dachshund. She is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 10lbs. Roxy was turned into an animal shelter in SE KY. Her fosters cannot understand how someone could turn in such a truly wonderful little dog. Roxy is housetrained and goes outside to potty. She walks well on a leash and has excellent house manners. She gets very bonded to her person and likes to follow them around the house. She is quiet for the breed and is just an overall joy to be around. She gets along good with other dogs and even likes cats!

Roxy will be spayed, up-to-date with all vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped, given a fecal exam, dewormer (if needed), and flea preventative prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting this little one, please email for an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Hazard Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
