Sparticus's Story...
Sparticus just doesn’t fit this small guy at all. He has been called Sparks by his foster family, but may want a new name from the lucky family that allows him to join their pack. Sparks is 14 inches and weighs around 23 lbs. At 9 months old, Sparks is fully grown, but does have a beagle appetite, so may add a little more weight before having to go on a diet!

Sparks is full of puppy energy and loves to get into things. A game of keep-away from the big two-legged people in the house is his favorite game! Be sure that everything is placed up on counters and far to the back. He may be small but can jump! He is learning the command to ‘drop it’ and is doing well on training. Sparks is kennel trained and will need to be kenneled when his family is away from home because he is still a busy young guy. He kennels well after a couple minutes of whining. Sparks is housebroken and is trained to use a dog door.

This wonderful little guy is a real social butterfly. Take him to the dog park and watch him work the crowds! He is friendly to small kids, all the adults he meets and loves playing with the other dogs. He currently is in a foster home with several other beagles and gets along with all. He goes from one to the next as he wears each out with his love of wrestling! Sparks will do best with an active family that will give him plenty of exercise and attention. He will need to continue with his training and would do well in an obedience class. Please apply to come and meet this great little man soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparticus, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
