No, we're not crazy, we have the DNA test results to prove it! Early really is 1/4 border collie & 1/4 german shorthaired pointer. She is also a whole bunch of other breeds thrown in the mix: brittany spaniel, viszla, catahoula leopard dog, welsh terrier...
So Early is a totally unique and beautiful, cinnamon-colored Heinz 57 mix with a super alert mind and gaze and a gentle, submissive spirit. She is a super sweet, energetic, and playful young lady who LOVES to race around and romp with her doggy playmates. She is also great with kitties. She is petite and lean, about 35-40 lbs and about 18-24 months old. This bright and active girl also likes to cuddle on the couch with her kitty friend, Amos.
She is a very smart girl and learns quickly. She is a gem on the leash, which is so wonderful as she came into rescue so frightened of leashes that she would just squat & not move. Now she comes right along, doesn't pull at all. She is still easily startled by quick movements & loud noises so we would love to find her a kind, gentle home where she can continue to blossom and build her trust in, and bonds with, her people.
Early was rescued from a rural part of Northern California with her litter mates, who were roaming semi-wild. It took local Good Samaritans a couple of days to get the whole bunch but they finally did. Now they have all either been adopted or are in foster homes learning how great it is to live indoors with real families.
Early is spayed, up to date on his vaccinations, tested heartworm negative, and microchipped.
