Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In rescue, our hearts hurt every day from the stories we hear. However, when we heard Owen’s story, our hearts broke just a little deeper, even though this special boy wants us to live in the present, not the past. Owen and his brother were wandering the mean streets of Los Angeles. Scared and hungry, they were captured by Animal Control and separated at intake! Owen cried for his brother and never even knew he was adopted right away. He was put in a cage with three other dogs and was viciously attacked. His front legs were in horrible shape when we rescued him. You’d think this would turn him off to humans and animals, right? Not so for sweet Owen! He is so desperately wants to trust again. He is cautious – and needs a guardian who will take everything slow with him – but he is also so gentle and calm.
He loves the companionship of other friendly dogs and enjoys meeting new people. He is so good in his foster home (and housebroken!) and loves walking on leash. He was a hit at our adoptions and everyone who met him commented on his good looks and uplifting spirit. Owen is a gorgeous Beagle-Dachshund mix; approximately two years old. His grin is infectious and tiny little body wiggles when he moves – it wiggles when he’s happy too. He has the most beautiful golden coat and big brown eyes. Owen longs for a forever family who can give him all the space and guidance to blossom into the amazing dog we know he is. You won’t be sorry if you adopt this special dog…. He will make you happy and fulfilled for many years to come.
