Tristan Kurwenal's Story...
Tristan Kurwenal came in with his sisters, Thelma Sue and Ethel Mae. These triplets look almost identical! Tristan was found with his littermates as strays as part of our Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program. Upon discovering they were friendly, they were fostered and then admitted into Tree House instead of being released back to the street. Tristan is such a sweet guy who gets along with everyone. He is mild-mannered and very polite, and would make an excellent addition to any home. He may appear a little soft-spoken at first, but that is all a disguise; he is the sweetest and most affectionate little man. Once he's identified you as a friend, he won't let you be - he'll continuously approach you demurely for a pet or to be picked up and cuddled and will circle around at your feet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tristan Kurwenal, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
