Lucy's Story...
My name is Lucy and I am a happy go lucky chi dachshund mix. I weigh a whopping 9 lbs. I am about 4 mths old and very well behaved - I seem much older because I am so good! I was found as a stray and ended up at a shelter - wow that place is a little scary to a little girl like me! I am too cute though so Buster's Friends sprang me from there. My whole body wags with my tail. I am ok with dogs, cats and 2 legged people. Let me come home with you so I feel safe and loved forever.
Lucy is around 4 months old and about 9 lbs.

She is updated on shots, spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125.

Meet our dogs! They will be available for adoption at our weekend adoption venues!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Houston Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
