April's Story...
Meet April – Hi I’m April because one of my great rescue friends Lightnin’ found me in Mason Park in April. I was hiding in the weeds because I was scared and a little hurt. I’m fine now and loved to play with Lightnin’ until he went to his forever home. Now my best friend is Remy and we play all day long.

I am a boxer mix and approximately 3 years old and fully vetted. I get along with all dogs and just love life and playing. I will need a yard to run and play in because life is grand and I like to enjoy life. For more information contact tauna@barriodogs.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

April, a Houston Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Houston, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
