Rylan Martin's Story...
Meet Rylan, a sweet boy not even two years, housebroken and crate trained. He has dual detached retinas which rendered him completely blind and not a viable candidate for corrective surgery, That doesn't stop this young man from enjoying life and just forces home to use his other senses more, He is able to navigate with very few bumps by using his sense of smell, and he is learning to follow voice commands.
Owning a blind dog is not difficult, just a bit more attention is required to guide him with sounds and words. We use the word "Touch" before petting an area his nose is not by to keep from startling him, and other sounds to redirect him or make him aware when he is approaching an obstacle, He has not mastered steps yet, but has ventured to the first one and stood on it. He enjoys car rides but must be lifted in and out of a car at this time, but we believe he will get past that. He already has is confident enough to jump in and out of the chair he loves to sleep in, and loves being beside your feet at night.
Because of his disability, he will need another dog in the home to follow as he depends on the companionship of a dog, He will be the other dogs shadow on walks and and feels safe by picking up the easy demeanor of the dog he is with. because a high energy home would promote anxiety we would like to place him in a home with older children who are mindful that he gets spooked by things, A fenced yard is also a requirement as he can learn his boundaries by smell and obstacles and would be able to have the freedom to move about.
Rylan is a sweet, quiet boy, very laid back and just simply stunning in appearance. He had a not so pleasant start in life as being neglected, forgotten and chained outside before being dumped at a crappy shelter. This doll deserves a loving home to feel safe in, and one that will commit tohim for the remainder of his life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rylan Martin, a Lancaster Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
