Hank's Story...
Handsome Hank was pulled from being euthanized just in the nick of time. He was found wandering, so we don't have any history on him. Approximately 2-3 years old, Hank is about 70 lbs and a bit on the thin side. The perfect gentleman, Hank walks well on leash, is very friendly, knows sit, and seems to be fine with cats. Typical northern breed, Hank can live with a female dog about his size but no small pets. An outside kennel would need to be on concrete as Hank will dig. Hank is not tolerant of a crate, but could easily learn if he's fed in a crate, given a Kong or soup bone and gradually left in the crate for longer periods of time. Hank's adoption fee is $225. While we represent the state of Delaware, our dogs are fostered in Virginia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hank, a Augusta County Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Augusta County, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Augusta County.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Augusta County already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Augusta County breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Augusta County paves the way for another one to be saved.
