Sir Duke's Story...
Pet Memo
Hi everybody...my name is Sir Duke and I'm a 7 year old beagle boy. The good folks at AZBR recently rescued me from the shelter and were able to get me some much needed medical treatment. I had surgery recently and I'm now resting comfortably. We thought I had ruptured anal glands, but it ended up being much worse than that. Can you even imagine how much pain I was in? I'm so happy I was able to get in for surgery and to receive such good care! During surgery, the damage was found to be much worse than the doctor thought, but we are hoping for a smooth recovery. Right now, I need to be kept quiet and limited to leash walks only. My foster mom is taking good care of me & says I'm feeling better. I just need some time to heal. Please check back soon to learn more about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sir Duke, a Phoenix Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
