Brunner's Story...
Brunner unbelievably was on the euthanasia list for fear. We have no idea what happened to this puppy before he landed at County, but whatever it was, it wasn't good. He is in foster care now, learning that people are safe, and can be trusted. He is shy and withdrawn around people, but will allow you to cuddle and hold him - just like a baby. There is not a mean bone in his body - he's just afraid. He seems to come alive around his foster dog friend Leo, who has been mentoring him and showing him that people are there to love and protect him, not hurt him. He will need a person/family that will be patient and slow with him, love him and protect him, and continue to teach him how people are safe. We believe him to be a Swiss Mountain Dog, but that was not an option to choose for breed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brunner, a Gilbert Bernese Mountain Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
