Pinky's Story...
5 years old

She was about 6 months old when her original owner adopted her from a rescue in NY. Due to a domestic conflict, Pinky was surrendered to Chance at Life Cat Rescue. Pinky is currently rooming with 5 other cats but will do fine on her own as she can be an Alpha and independent. She does have her soft side, like when she gives kisses on your forehead, eyelids or rubs against your legs. She can also be found snuggling with the other cats when she thinks you are not looking. Pinky will let you know however when she has had enough attention by swatting or narrowing her eyes at you. She enjoys any kind of treat and her favorite toy is a laser light mouse.

Pinky would probably do best in a home without small children as she does not tolerate being squished or carted around. Even though she likes a good brushing, she prefers to have it done on her terms.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pinky, a River Edge Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in River Edge, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in River Edge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in River Edge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a River Edge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in River Edge paves the way for another one to be saved.
