Thelma's Story...
2yrs. old

Thelma and her sister Louise were both in a home where the person didn’t care for them at all. These two adorable little girls had upper respiratory infections and hadn’t had any food or water in days. Unfortunately, Thelma’s infection was so bad that her one eye had to be removed. Luckily with the help of Chance at Life they are both doing well.

Even though Thelma only has one eye it doesn’t affect her at all. She lives a very normal and happy life. She can be a little shy at first, but then warms up to you.

She is looking for her furever home and can be adopted separately from her sister, but both sisters can be adopted separately.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thelma, a River Edge Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in River Edge, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in River Edge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in River Edge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a River Edge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in River Edge paves the way for another one to be saved.
