Jethro's Story...
Jethro and his siblings came to us from a rural county shelter south of Ohio. Him and his siblings succumbed to the nasty parvoviris upon arrival to the rescue and were rushed to the vet. Jethro never got sick, and spent 10 days being quarantined away from his ill siblings. His siblings are just now leaving ICU and starting to meet the outside world, while Jethro has been resting comfortably in foster. Jethro is very shy, most likely not socialized as a puppy. He will need a committed owner willing to do puppy classes with him, and it is recommended he go to a home with another dog, as he seems to thrive with canine friends around. He is very sweet and warms up quickly. And he is a cuddler!
Jethro is neutered, chipped, UTD on shots, HW neg, and fully vetted and healthy! His adoption fee is $230 to cover vet costs. If interested please fill out an application at www.fidosrescueandrehab.petfinder.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jethro, a Lancaster Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
