My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Gracie. At the age of two, I'm fully grown at 55 pounds. My life has been in turmoil from when I was a puppy. I had a home, but no one cared for me very much. They wanted me to have puppies and then threw me out. I wandered on the streets of town hungry and afraid for a week or more. I slept in bushes and was terrified of storms. I was alone and sad. Then a man in a truck saw me and picked me up. He took me to the shelter and I was relieved to be off the streets. But, I soon discovered what was happening there. I smelled death coming every day and I became anxious and more sad than ever! Somehow, I was passed over and kept alive there for almost three weeks. I found out later a kind lady was putting a hold on me to keep me alive.
Finally, I was taken away to a place like a hospital. I got some shots and was spayed. The kind lady then picked me up and I left the shelter for good. I felt sad for all the dogs left behind that would die. I wish people knew so more would come to save others like me. I understand now that the world is not always a good place.
I met other dogs at a wonderful home where I stayed a week. It was a friendly place and I was a visitor. You see, the kind lady saved me, but she had to begin searching for a home. I was moved again to a boarding place. I'm there now. It's nice but I am so lonely for a family of my own. I absolutely love people, children and I adore other dogs and cats. I really like men, and enjoy being a lap dog. I have great attributes too. I am house trained, I can sit and I mind extremely well. I try so hard to be a perfect little girl. I walk great on a leash. I'm crate trained and will go in a crate on command though I don't really need it. It's okay though.
Playing is my favorite thing. I never had the opportunity to play until I got saved from the shelter. I play at boarding too but am sad I have no family to come for me like the other dogs here.
If you are reading my letter, please help tell others about me here. I've been waiting for my own family now for a long time. I pray for them every day. And, while I was praying, God told me if I will only believe, they will come. I do believe.
