Duke's Story...
Meet Duke, named after General John Marmaduke of Civil War fame, after Duke was found as a stray near a civil war battlefield. Duke is about 7-8 years old, in A+ health and has a stocky brittany build with longer, curly fur. He has a deep, rich orange / white coloring. He is a happy, energetic boy who wants to please his family. He enjoys being around people the most, always hanging nearby, wanting pets and affection. He likes chewing on bones and will chase a ball (but makes you bring it back for him). Duke plays with the other dogs in his foster home. He will go outside to “patrol” the yard for squirrels, birds and bunnies. The good news is that Duke is fine with cats. He is crate trained, and can be left in a crate during the work day for several hours. He is housebroken and knows sit. And of course, he loves mealtimes and treats.

Duke has been neutered, is up to date with his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and on prevention and is microchipped tool

So, if you're looking for a best buddy to enjoy life with, Duke could just be your boy. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application at the New England Brittany Rescue website, We look forward to hearing from you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Buffalo Brittany dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Brittany for sale in Buffalo, or seeking a Brittany dog from a breeder in Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Brittany breeders who help with Brittany rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
