Ozzie's Story...
Meet Ozzie:

Ozzie is a 6 month old Brown Merle Australian Shepherd Mix that came to Paw Protectors Rescue from the streets of Watts CA, Ozzie his mother and sister had been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. One of our Volunteers received a call from some kind neighbors that had allowed Ozzie to seek some solace and relief off the streets in their front yard, Other bigger dogs had been picking on Ozzie and one had Ozzie in his jaws when the neighbors came out started yelling and the other dog let Ozzie go and ran away, Despite Ozzie's upbringing he is a gentle, loving, comical soul.

Ozzie is 25 pounds and will be about 50-60 pounds fully grown! Ozzie has a high energy level and would do well with plenty of walks , exercise, he is socialized with dogs, cats, loves all people and children. Ozzie is 90% house trained, knows how to fetch balls and sticks and we at Paw Protectors Rescue feel it is best if Ozzie goes to a family in a private residence with a big enough yard for Ozzie's Energy Level!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ozzie, a Oceanside Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Oceanside, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Oceanside.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oceanside already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oceanside breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oceanside paves the way for another one to be saved.
