Shai's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Shai's Story...
Shai is a 6-8 month 30 pound old border collie mix . She absolutely loves playing with toys and loves to run around in the yard. She does well in her crate , and is learning how to be an inside dog. She has border collie energy and smarts, she's going to be a quick learner. She is very loyal to her people and would love cuddle up on a dog bed or on the couch if you let her. She is in foster home currently with older children but we think she would do well with any age children. She was tested with cats in the shelter, and passed according to the shelter's paperwork.
Shai has been seen by a vet and deamed healthy to his/her knowledge and is current on all vaccines, has been microchipped and altered.
An adoption application is required via email prior to meeting any Hope 4 Paws dog in its foster home. In most cases, breeds stated in the posting are merely our best educated guess as we do not know the history of many dogs that come into the rescue.

The adoption application is available at
The application can be emailed to Molly at
The adoption fee of $275 covers all vetting expenses.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shai, a Plainfield Border Collie/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Plainfield, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Plainfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Plainfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Plainfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Plainfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
