My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Countess Maggie's story keeps evolving! After some work by the shelter, we were able to obtain Maggie's vet records and it turns out she is just 6 yrs old. She will turn 7 on 5-3! Our vet was thinking she was younger than 10 by her behavior and condition and this just helps confirm this. Apparently her previous owners family didn't know a lot about her. Countess Maggie will be going in to our vet next week to have her teeth and gums worked on and then she will be available for adoption around 5-10-13. She put on the weight she lost during the stressful time of her owner passing and is left loose in her foster home. Her foster home has requested this practice continue as she seems happy this way. He also feels she might enjoy another k9 for company. If you are interested in giving Countess Maggie a forever home, submit your application today. more pictures will be posted in the coming weeks.

Countess Maggie is a 10 yr old female boxer who lost her owner to cancer. Her owner's family left her and another dog at a local shetler when he passed. The shelter contacted us to get Maggie as senior dogs don't do well in shelter settings and she had been through enough trauma with loosing her human. She is currently in a foster home but looking for a new forever home that will love her in her final years. She is very sweet, fully vetted, and on the petite side at 45#s. she is house trained and crate trained although she would rather hang out on the couch while you are gone. She loves to snuggle in bed with you and it appears she wants to play still although she is still a little confused by all the changes. If you have room in your heart for a senior girl with spunk still in her, the Countess might be your girl.
