Bella's Story...
Bella was adopted in 2009 and is being returned to us this month due to changing family situations that force her return. She is guessed to be around 8 yrs old now and has been living in a home with 2 children (one special needs) and a small dog. She will be placed back in a foster home for an updated evaluation and then be available for adoption. Updated pictures and profile will be posted once we know more.

2009 Update: Bella has been doing great in her foster home. She is able to trust both people and other dogs. She went to the dog park and was the social butterfly of the park. She has the sweetest personality, loves toys, bones, and playing with her foster boxer brother and sister. Because she dislikes the kennel, she only goes into it when left for a long period of time, but at night she sleeps out of the kennel and has done great! Not sure how she is with cats, but does well with both big and small dogs. Bella has just arrived in our program so not much is known about her. She is very shy and will have to learn that people are good and are not going to hurt her. Once she decides to open up and talk to us, we will let you know more about her.

Home visits are REQUIRED prior to adoption, fenced yards are a must and obedience class. For more information on the adoption process, visit www.midwestboxerrescues.com and read the adoption criteria. After doing this, feel free to fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch to arrange a home visit. Placements are done in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bella, a Springfield Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Springfield, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Springfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
